Casemiro and Antony in, Tyrell Malacia given chance

Manchester United will be hoping to have some fresh faces on board before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have endured a torrid start to life under Erik ten Hag with United falling to back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, first against Brighton and then in the shape of a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Brentford.

As a result, Ten Hag is looking for further additions in order to bolster his squad for the season ahead.

United have two prime targets in their sights in the shape of Antony from Ajax and Casemiro from Real Madrid, whom the club announced a deal for on Friday night.

Here, talkSPORT.com takes a look at how the club could look at the end of the transfer window.

While United continue to be linked with a backup goalkeeper, David De Gea looks guaranteed to keep his status as the club’s number one.

Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia made the move to Old Trafford this summer and have work to do to establish themselves in the first team, but with Luke Shaw and United’s defenders not exactly impressing so far, it means that more opportunities will be available.

The same is said for Harry Maguire and Diego Dalot, who are likely to retain their spots in the team.

One of Manchester United’s new faces will be Casemiro who is on the cusp of joining from Real Madrid.

With Ten Hag really struggling for quality options in the engine room, the Brazilian could slot in alongside Christian Eriksen.

Moving into the final third, Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes could be joined by Ajax star Antony, who remains a top target for the club.

Should Cristiano Ronaldo stay at the club, he could have some real pedigree supporting him as the 37-year-old looks to kick on in the season ahead.

Here’s how Manchester United’s XI could look with their new signings on board.
