Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all keen to keep strengthening during what remains of the summer window. At Stamford Bridge, the club’s desire to sign Wesley Fofana is no secret of course, but fresh reports suggest the Leicester star is “obsessed” with the idea of joining Thomas Tuchel’s side. It’s also believed the Blues have made an official offer for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, which could see Marcos Alonso go to Barcelona.
In north London, Spurs are ready to pounce. Indeed, Fofana’s arrival at Chelsea could force Trevoh Chalobah out and Antonio Conte is considering a shock move for the defender, who is also attracting interest from Roma and Inter Milan. For Arsenal, the focus has largely been on outgoings after a busy start to the summer, although Mikel Arteta is eager to add. However, Manchester United reportedly lead the race for target Cody Gakpo. Follow all of the latest news, gossip and rumors below!
Pepe not involved for Arsenal
Nicolas Pepe has been left out of Arsenal’s squad to face Bournemouth.
Arsenal are in talks with Nice over a loan move for the unwanted winger, who is not part of Mikel Arteta’s plans.
Looks like that move to France could be happening…
Liverpool eye Berge
Liverpool are unlikely to go back into the transfer window, Jurgen Klopp has insisted, but midfield looks to be the position that could change that.
With injuries piling up, Sky Sports report that Liverpool are interested in Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge.
It’s believed a fee in the region of £25m could be enough to get the player.
Tielemans also misses out
Brendan Rodgers has suggested Youri Tielemans’ absence from the Leicester side today is not due to uncertainty over his future.
Wesley Fofana is missing out for that reason, but Tielemans, looked with Arsenal so regularly this summer, appears to have missed out for tactical reasons.
Casemiro medical underway
Casemiro is in town!
Fabrizio Romano reports that the midfielder arrived in Manchester this morning, and is having the first part of his medical.
Should all be wrapped up very soon.
Fernandes wanted Nunes at Old Trafford
Bruno Fernandes has revealed that he wanted new Wolves signing Matheus Nunes to join him at Manchester United.
The 23-year-old has joined Wolves in a big-money move, starting against Tottenha, but Fernandes was keen for him to move to Old Trafford.
He said: “I’ve already talked to him. I’ve already told him that he should have come here and not there! I’m very happy for him.
‘Matheus is doing incredible things. He has an incredible scope for growth, he is a humble, hardworking kid and I’m sure he will probably explode in the Premier League and will show his qualities.”
Fofana not involved
As expected, Chelsea target Wesley Fofana is left out of the Leicester squad.
The centre-back wants to join Chelsea this summer, but Leicester are reluctant to sell and would want a massive fee.
Arteta explains Jesus decision
Mikel Arteta is confident Gabriel Jesus will produce his best football now that he has regular Premier League starts.
The Brazilian joined Arsenal this summer, bringing an end to his time at Manchester City, and he has wasted no time in settling in to his new surroundings.
Arteta believes the platform for Jesus to be the main man at the Emirates is what was so appealing for the striker when considering his options earlier in the summer.
“That’s what he needed,” the Arsenal boss told Sky Sports. “Obviously he’s played a lot of games in this league in the last few years but not that many as a starter, especially in the last two years.
“He really wants to feel like the player that can make the difference for the team and that’s the next stage.”

Sterling ‘fuming’ at Man City treatment
Raheem Sterling has revealed how angry he was at his treatment by Manchester City before he left the club this summer.
“Everyone wants to feel wanted, football is no different,” Sterling told Sky Sports.
“When you play your heart out, sacrifice some of your kids’ birthdays, and then get treated in a certain way, it’s disappointing.
“At the time I was fuming, raging, but it’s gone, it’s in the past and I can only focus on the present, which is now, here at Chelsea, and the opportunity I’ve got here to go out and showcase my talents once again.”
Xavi on Dest links
Manchester United are reportedly pushing to sign Sergino Dest from Barcelona.
Xavi has been discussing those links, suggesting that Barcelona not being able to sign Cesar Azpilicueta could play a role in the club’s decision.
He said. “We wanted to sign Azpilicueta and it couldn’t be. We’ll have to see what we want. Sergino Dest? He knows about the situation.”

A year after joining the club, Memphis Depay’s time at Barcelona looks to be coming to an end.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Barcelona are ready to terminate his contract, allowing Depay to join Juventus on a two-year deal.
Barcelona are keen to let the player leave, but talks are still ongoing between Depay and Juventus over personal terms.
